Barrier Stop

E-z Detector Checker

The E-Z Detector Checker is a compact diagnostic tool designed to make gate and barrier loop troubleshooting faster and more efficient. By replacing the installed loop during testing, it allows technicians to quickly isolate faults and identify whether the issue is related to the loop, detector, or control system.

This handheld test device functions as a portable loop simulator. Simply connect it in place of the existing loop to begin system diagnostics. An integrated LED indicator confirms when the detector is supplying power to the test device, helping verify proper detector and wiring operation.

Pressing the red test button simulates a vehicle detection event, allowing you to confirm that the loop detector is responding correctly and that the gate or barrier operator receives and executes the detection signal as expected.

Description

Why Use the E-Z Detector Checker?

Troubleshooting vehicle loop systems becomes faster and more efficient when you eliminate unnecessary guesswork. The E-Z Detector Checker is designed to help technicians verify the detector circuit before investigating the in-ground loop, allowing problems to be identified more accurately and reducing unnecessary repairs.

Unlike buried loop wiring, detector modules and related components can be tested or replaced quickly. This compact testing device connects directly to the detector circuit, helping installers confirm whether the detector, wiring, and operator controls are functioning correctly before moving on to more advanced diagnostics.

The E-Z Detector Checker is intended to evaluate the detector and control circuitry only. For testing the actual in-ground loop insulation and integrity, a megohmmeter remains the recommended diagnostic tool. It can also assist during gate setup by helping verify detector response while adjusting operating limits and timing.
